To make that important first impression, a good and lasting one, you may want to consider the following when taking your headshot.
~ Clothing: Select appropriate clothing that shows your personality. Keep it simple by wearing outfits that suits your figure. Stick to solid colours as busy patterns/loud prints may draw the attention from your face. You can also wear your formal work clothes or uniform. Make sure your clothes are pressed. You should also try out your new clothes before the shoot.

~ Accessories: It’s okay to wear some jewelry, ties, brooches etc. as long as they bring out the best. Remember: It should also represent your style.

~ Makeup: For your headshot, go for natural and similar daily look. Don’t be too dramatic. Choose eye shadows that complement your eye colour. A professional Makeup artiste can help you achieve this look.

~Be Relaxed : You want your photos to look like you, right? Then, you have to be yourself. Drink lots of water and be well rested before you take your headshots. There is a limit to what Makeup and editing can do. Also, make sure you are comfortable with the posing.
